Lighting up the Hills
Villages in the catchment of ITNL’s Chenani–Nashri Tunnel Project in the Himalayas suffer from a lack electricity and public lighting. Without streetlights, navigating the narrow roads is a perilous task, particularly in winters.
We have installed 15 solar lights along the streets and in places of worship, in Inchha and Sanasar villages. This has improved social activity in these areas after sunset.
We also installed an all-weather solar power system in a remote school in Mandlote village. This supplies uninterrupted power to the computer lab that we have set up in the school, making it possible for students to use the computers whenever they wish.
